Happy 4th Of July

4th of july

Independence Day of the United States, also referred to as the Fourth of July or July Fourth in the U.S., is a federal #holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress declaring that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and no longer part of the British Empire.[1] Independence Day is commonly associated with #fireworks, parades, #barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the #National Day of the United States

What Makes a Great Logo Design?

The Nike Swoosh, the Coca-Cola cursive and Apple’s apple: great brands have great logos. These logos convey the brand’s message to millions of people every day, just by being visible.

If your company is looking to make an impression and grow in the marketplace, you’ll need a logo. Fortunately, a good graphic designer can create one for you. While the price tags for those famous logos we mentioned earlier vary widely, you can get a brand-building logo for a budget price. Creating a logo is about more than eye-catching pictures. There are many things to consider when choosing the right logo for your company, so today we’re going to take a deeper look at the logistics of logos.

Talking Text

Unless your logo is internationally recognized like Nike or Apple, adding your name to the graphic is crucial to building your brand awareness. That means you’re going to need some text. The words you include in your logo do more than just convey your message, for starters. They also represent the “look” of your brand. Great graphic designers know how to use different fonts to convey different meanings and emotions to their audiences. Being legible isn’t enough, unfortunately. Your text has to convey a notion as well, and your graphic designer can help you find the right text for your logo.

Eye-catching Color

Colors aren’t just for sports teams. Companies can and should have colors as well, and those colors should be represented in the logo. It’s important, of course, to choose your colors wisely. The colors you select can have a big impact on your company’s future business success.

Start by remembering that certain colors convey certain emotions. If your goal is to make your logo look young and exciting, you may want to select a bright color like red or yellow. However, if your goal is to have your logo look cool and refined, darker colors, like blue, are the better choice. Color psychology is very real and a good graphic designer can use it to your advantage.

It’s also worth pointing out that you don’t need to have any color at all. A great logo should look as good in black and white as it does in any color shade. The Nike swoosh is a great example.

Finally, just like your text, simplicity is king when it comes to selecting colors for your logo. That means limiting your color selections to 3 or fewer; it’s worth noting that a single color may be all you need.

Creating a Great Graphic

When most people think of a brand’s logo, they think of the graphic, so make your graphic count. Any logo can look good on a masthead, but a professional graphic designer can help you create a graphic that also looks good on stationery, apparel, advertisements and on the Web.

Graphics that possess these qualities are professionally created, not clip art. They are also scalable and, like the text and color selections, simple. Perhaps most importantly, a good logo graphic is also timeless. Your company is going to be around for generations, and so should your logo.

More cost effective than you think

For your business to grow and build brand reputation, you need a great logo – something that symbolizes your company every time it appears and conveys the message you want to your customers, now and for the years ahead. But that doesn’t mean your logo has to cost you thousands of dollars. Fivenson Studios design team has been empowering companies for years by creating one-of-a-kind logos for affordable prices.

Logo Design

The core piece on all your marketing efforts is your logo. Your company's logo is the first place where prospects will have contact with your company. If your logo is out of date or poorly constructed then you can be sure that you will lose business from your prospects or target audience. Many times an innovative and intriguing logo is what will make your prospects interested enough in your company to want to do business with you or at least find out what it is you do.

Our approach is to create fresh, innovative logos for our clients that establish branding identity, capture the attention of your target audience and tell the story of your business

Happy Father’s Day

happy fathers day fivenson studios graphic design and web design studios
We just wanted to say Happy Father’s Day to all the new dads, old dads, granddads, dads-in-law, stepdads, serious dads, goofball dads and all the other dads out there. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
Father's Day is such a well-recognized holiday it can seem like it's always been around — but it's actually pretty recent. And once upon a time, lots of the country's dads were opposed to it.

The holiday was invented by a woman who really liked her dad. Sonora Smart Dodd, a woman from Spokane, WA, was inspired to create Father's Day after listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909. "Don’t you think fathers deserve a place in the sun, too?" she is said to have asked the minister. Dodd's own mother had died and she and her siblings had been raised by their father.

Dodd picked June for the celebration (the month of her dad's birthday) and in 1910, the first Father's Day was celebrated in Spokane. The day didn't become official nationwide until 1972, when Nixon officially declared the third Sunday of every June Father's Day.

Apparently, part of the delay was due to male resistance to the idea. NBC writes, "American historian Timothy Marr wrote in American Masculinities: A Historical Encyclopedia that in the holiday's early decades, men 'scoffed at the holiday’s sentimental attempts to domesticate manliness with flowers and gift-giving, or they derided the proliferation of such holidays as a commercial gimmick to sell more products — often paid for by the father himself.'"

Evidently, those attitudes have changed — Wikipedia lists over 130 countries that celebrate Father's Day throughout the year. Besides the United States, 75 others celebrate on the third Sunday of June. These include China, India, Japan, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

Hallmark estimates that 80 million cards will be exchanged this Sunday, making it the fourth biggest card-sending day of the year. If you're not among that 80 million, just remember: late is better than never!

How to Teach that Tech Ignorant Inside You for Faster Business Growth

it's the time of technology Fivenson Studios is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, our graphic design team specializes in logo and webpage design, as well as marketing campaigns f

Businesspeople should know that this is the time of technology. While young entrepreneurs realize how important it is to master at least some tech-related basics in the modern business world, their middle-aged and elderly colleagues often still treat tech innovations like a temporary incident. According to a study, our productivity has increased for more than 80% since the 1970s, as a result of unparalleled technological growth. So, how should a poorly educated business owner, tech-wise, start using modern business solutions?
01

Sales funnel automation

If you are planning to launch (and run a business) in the online space, you are probably not doing that for a charity. Every online business presence is meant to bring a profit. The tiny problem with this end goal is that thousands of businesses are trying to do the same. Therefore, you need to narrow down your marketing goals as much as possible and get a chance to cater a smaller number of well-aimed business targets. This is where sales funnel automation comes on stage. When your business efforts are enhanced with some cutting-edge software tools, your sales funnel can become an automated feature that generates new leads and increases your sales. Guys from Businessnewsdaily.com have made a resourceful overview of some modern CRM software tools for sales automation. You can have a better look at them here.

A smartphone world

The tagline of the modern world could be contained in the phrase ”A Smartphone World“, sung to that old Talking Heads tune ”Wild Wild Life“. Business owners whose mission is to keep giving their businesses a steady upward nudge in the years to come have to realize that smartphone services should be high on their list of priorities. No matter how unbelievable their potentials might sound, these devices should provide inspiration for new business moves. First of all, modern entrepreneurs should expose themselves to smartphone apps, just to get the gist of how they work. Secondly, they should start using business apps as work add-ons, too. They can speed up the entire work (and) organization process, as well as boost productivity. Finally, using smartphones at work has to be accompanied by proper utilization of cloud services.

The online data realm

The times when people used to work in computer-packed offices are behind us. The most incredible thing is that those times were reality only five years ago. Today, however, with the unbelievable expansion of the online data realm, also known as the cloud, business owners reduce the number of devices in their offices and go for a growing number of cloud packages. Cloud solutions are especially convenient for small business owners. Instead of wasting a fortune on software licenses, today you can simply "rent" a software service for a certain period of time (just like a movie from Netflix).

What is more, the option to use cloud storage space is threatening to send hard disks to an early grave, too. From free initial packages to terabytes of paid online space, using avant-garde cloud storage options can undoubtedly accelerate your business growth.

002

The essence of visuals

If you have at least average perceptual skills, you must have noticed how everything around us is turning visual. While TV-commercials and billboards are old news, the modern Internet knows no boundaries, so visual content dominates the World Wide Web today. This trend offers certain possibilities for business owners. For instance, you can adorn your website with some unique photos that will make a difference by inspiring your occasional visitors to become regulars. Since it is difficult to find original but affordable photos, this procedure can be done much faster through some user-friendly Bulkr options that will speed up the photo-seeking process and fit into every budget.

Of course, when it comes to visual business content, handy services for making concise video content, such as Vine, should also be taken into consideration.

Business owners who start using at least some of the services presented here can already consider themselves much tech-savvier than they were before they read this text. Have no fear of new technology and get to know it, so as to make it work for your business cause.

Microsoft is buying LinkedIn for $26.2 billion

Microsoft is buying LinkedIn for $26.2 billion Fivenson Studios Michigans #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising & Full-Service Agency

Microsoft is buying LinkedIn for $26.2 billion, the company announced on Monday.

LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner will remain CEO of the social network for professionals, reporting directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

Satya_Nadella

Under the terms of the acquisition, LinkedIn will maintain its "Distinct brand, culture, and independence" - similar to how Facebook handled its acquisition of WhatsApp - and Microsoft says LinkedIn co founder and chairman Reid Hoffmanand Weiner "Both fully support" the purchase, with both boards signing off.

"I have been learning about LinkedIn for some time while also reflecting on how networks can truly differentiate cloud services. It's clear to me that the LinkedIn team has grown a fantastic business and an impressive network of more than 433 million professionals." Nadella went on to mention how Microsoft's Office software suite could be combined with LinkedIn's network in the future, such as the ability for Microsoft to serve up suggestions for a specialized expert through LinkedIn when its software recognizes you're trying to complete a specific task.

Jeff_Weiner_at_Tech_Cruch_2013_(1)

"We are in pursuit of a common mission centered on empowering people and organizations. Along with the new growth in our Office 365 commercial and Dynamics businesses this deal is key to our bold ambition to reinvent productivity and business processes," Nadella wrote.

"Think about it: How people find jobs, build skills, sell, market and get work done and ultimately find success requires a connected professional world. It requires a vibrant network that brings together a professional's information in LinkedIn's public network with the information in Office 365 and Dynamics. This combination will make it possible for new experiences such as a LinkedIn news feed that serves up articles based on the project you are working on and Office suggesting an expert to connect with via LinkedIn to help with a task you're trying to complete."As these experiences get more intelligent and delightful, the LinkedIn and Office 365 engagement will grow.

In turn, new opportunities will be created for monetization through individual and organization subscriptions and targeted advertising.

Web Design

Web Design- Helping Your Online Business- Fivenson Studios Michigan's #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising & Full-Service Agency

How Web Design Supports Expansion of Online Businesses

You do not have to be an expert in visual arts to see how big a role design plays in the modern world today. Clothes, gadgets, cars and housing depend largely on designers. And on top of it all, the development of Internet has completely changed the face of modern design, since web design has become the most important branch in this field. But how can an ordinary business owner benefit from web design?

001

More visitors – higher revenue

When a business owner decides to launch a website, this visual solution has to be a well-organized, visually attractive and purposeful unit. If you website can be described with these words, your visitors will be more satisfied with your services. Satisfied visitors are highly likely to add your website to their bookmarks. If they come back to your website, it means that they are interested in your business and the products you offer. The final stage of this procedure is making a purchase. As you can see, you will win a customer and increase your revenue only if your website works in a proper way.

Social aspects of website

While it is clear now how website looks and organization gain users’ trust, business owners might fail to recognize the social importance of their websites. How can you make your website acquire a social role? The first step is definitely launching a forum for your clients. Here they can discuss your products and other relevant topics. The second move should be linking your website to your social media profiles. That way they can make comments on both places. While they are socializing, the number of clicks is growing, which can significantly improve your search engine ranking. In addition, the higher your website is positioned on the result pages, the higher is your advertising potential.

Therefore, if you enrich your business website with some socializing features, it could contribute to your business productivity, too.

Merge design with commerce

Speaking of advertising and marketing, it is important to know that having a beautifully designed and organized website is only one of the requirements needed for an online business boost. When a visitor is convinced to stay on your site, they have to know that they can buy freely, without any safety concerns. You can sooth them by using only the most reliable ecommerce solutions for your website. What you need are brands that are present on the global scale. In accordance with the opinions of some knowledgeable Magento Sydney-based experts, the ecommerce tools you are using need to prove your clients that your business is supported by an all-inclusive provider that will make their buying experience as safe and as smooth as it gets. So, if you merge creative design with trustworthy ecommerce, your business results will improve.

Adapt to fashion

Business owners and web designers cannot ignore the fact that nowadays hundreds of millions of people access websites from gadgets. This is a great fact in theory. In practice, however, it could be terrible news for all businesspeople whose websites are not responsive and adaptable to the current gadget fashion. To stay competitive and visible for this target audience, have your web designer take care of the website, to make it responsive and mobile-friendly.

002

Thousands of websites are launched and closed down on the global level as we speak. Such fierce competition demands a devoted approach to website design and functionality. Our suggestions will make your website different from others and recognized by Internet users. In return, it should boost your business efficiency and revenue, contributing to your business success.

Life has no remote get up and change it yourself.

Quote Of The Day

"Life has no remote... get up and change it yourself." -― Mark A. Cooper

Life has no remote get up and change it yourself. Mark A. Cooper- designed by Fivenson Studios Michigans #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising & Full-Service Agency

Here are a set of actions that I’ve found to help make change:

  1. Find a purpose. You might already know what your purpose is, but it’s good to review it and keep it at the forefront of your thoughts. If you don’t have a purpose, start here: what will you want to look back on at the end of your life? What will make your life feel significant? What will give your life some meaning? If you don’t have an answer to these questions, it’s worth spending a little time here. Go for a walk and think about it.
  2. Embrace your desire. You’re reading this article because you have a desire to do something positive in your life. Embrace that. Isn’t it wonderful that you have this desire? See this as the first positive step, one you’ve already taken. Now use it and take action.
  3. Create the space. You won’t make any changes if you don’t create a small space for the change. When will you start making the change? In the morning, in the evening, during your lunch break? Don’t wait for the change to happen — make it happen. Block off some time on your calendar each day, even if it’s just 10 or 15 minutes. If you don’t have the time, think about how long you spend each day on Facebook, TV, games, or doing smaller tasks that aren’t as important. Push those back for just a bit, and do what’s most important to you first.
  4. Surround yourself. The best way to make change happen is to surround yourself with others making a similar change themselves, others who will support your change. Find a few people online or off, and create a support team that will check in with each other regularly. Yes, this might take some work. Yes, you can do it.
  5. Make the accountability. Find at least one person who will hold you accountable for making this change. It might be the support team mentioned above, or a coach, or an accountability partner. Tell them not to let you off the hook.
  6. Take a small action. If you’re overwhelmed by a large change, or a bunch of large change, just focus on one small step. What small action can you take today that will move you forward? It might be something as simple as “do an Internet search about selling my quilts online”, or “call Freddie to ask him to hold me accountable”. Take a small step, and get moving. Movement begets movement. Now take another small step. This is how change is created.

Content Marketing Basics

Content Marketing Basics designed by Fivenson Studios Michigans #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising & Full-Service Agency

Content Marketing Basics – the Importance of Tone

At face value, content marketing might not seem like a ton of work. You write an article or two, tweet a few times, maybe upload a nice short video to YouTube and you are done, right? Well, wrong. Content marketing is a very complex field where one needs to do everything right in order to truly reap the benefits.

There are a number of things that will influence how successful you are when doing content marketing – from the time you invest in doing it to the tools you might choose to help you in your efforts. One factor that can also be the difference between successful and unsuccessful content marketing is your tone.

smiley-1041796_1920

What Exactly is Tone?

Tone can mean a lot of things and before we get into explaining why it matters so much, we should probably make it clear as to what we think of as tone. Tone is the "emotional color" of your content which can influence how people respond to it, how much they share it and so on. In content marketing, however, tone goes a bit more than just giving a particular shade to your content. It also involves your communication with other people on the web.

Different Tone Categories

When we are talking about the categories of tone, we are talking about the different situations where the tone needs to be determined. The first and the most obvious of these is the tone of the actual content. Another category is the tone you adopt when reaching out to owners of blogs and websites who might be willing to let you guest blog on their sites. There is also the category of the tone you take on when communicating with the general public, either on social media or in the comments sections once you post your content.

Content Tone

Finding the right tone for your content is not an easy task, even though it may seem like one. For one, you need to think long and hard about what the "appropriate" tone is going to be for your business. For example, if your company manufactures medical equipment, your content will need to be very serious, backed with cold, hard facts and also cutting edge. On the other hand, if you run a local burger joint, you will want to be relaxed, even jovial.

Experts from the reputable SEO firm Online Marketing Gurus tell us that this is not only true for written content. If you do video content, you also need to make sure the tone of your content is suitable for your industry and your company. The same goes for infographics or any other type of content such as podcasts, white papers and so on.

Communication Tone

Just as it is important to establish the kind of content tone that will work the best for you, it is just as useful to hit all the right notes when talking to other people online. This is especially true for other bloggers and webmasters who own sites where you wish to do a bit of guest blogging. In order to find the best tone to take with them, you need to do a bit of research and find out who they are, what they are like and what kind of correspondence they prefer.

The best place to start is the industry and the website itself. For example, the world's leading website on medical technology is probably going to have very serious staff and people who will not be really happy to see an outreach email with half a dozen emojis peppered throughout. It will probably be best to keep things strictly professional in such a case. If you are reaching out to personal blogs, especially those dealing with lighter themes; you should also adopt a lighter tone.

Sometimes it is best to be factual and almost automatic sounding, while at other times such an approach will only make the blog owner get bored and stop conversing with you.

Of course, you will also want to establish the best kind of tone when responding to people's comments which will, hopefully, be posted once you get your content live. It can be quite difficult to stay composed when dealing with online commenters, but you need to try your best. Of course, if someone asks a question, you should be as quick and as helpful with your responses as possible.

If you decide to promote your content on social media (which you should do, by the way), you will also want to have a consistent tone which will let people know there is a real person behind the account, a person with certain opinions and beliefs.

Closing Word

If you fail to hit the right tone when doing content marketing, you are not only minimizing your chances of getting it shared and posted on websites that are not your own. You also risk sounding silly or overly serious which can be just as harmful.

Spend some time to think about your tone. It will pay off.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother's Day-From your friends at fivenson studios-Fivenson Studios Michigan's #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising & Full-Service Agency

To The World You Are A Mother, But To Your Family You Are The World.

Happy Mother’s Day From Your Friends At Fivenson Studios

The roots of Mother's Day history can be traced in UK where a Mothering Sunday was celebrated much before the festival saw the light of the day in US.

Early Christians celebrated a Mother's Day of sorts during the festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent in honor of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of Christ.

History of Mother's Day: Mothering Sunday Here a Mothering Sunday was celebrated annually on the fourth Sunday of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter) to honor mothers.

Julia tirelessly championed the cause of official celebration of Mother’s Day and declaration of official holiday on the day.

Though Anna Jarvis never married and never had kids, she is also known as the Mother of Mother’s Day, an apt title for the lady who worked hard to bestow honor on all mothers.

Anna Jarvis got the inspiration of celebrating Mother’s Day from her own mother Mrs. Anna Marie Reeves Jarvis in her childhood.

A loving daughter, Anna never forgot her mother’s word and when her mother died in 1905, she resolved to fulfill her mother’s desire of having a mother’s day.

By 1911, Mother's Day was celebrated in almost every state in the Union and on May 8, 1914 President Woodrow Wilson signed a Joint Resolution designating the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day.

There is also a tradition of gifting flowers, cards and others gift to mothers on the Mother’s Day.

It is unfortunate to note that Ms. Anna Jarvis, who devoted her life for the declaration of Mother’s Day holiday was deeply hurt to note the huge commercialization of the day.
