Life has no remote get up and change it yourself.

Quote Of The Day

"Life has no remote... get up and change it yourself." -― Mark A. Cooper

Life has no remote get up and change it yourself. Mark A. Cooper- designed by Fivenson Studios Michigans #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising & Full-Service Agency

Here are a set of actions that I’ve found to help make change:

  1. Find a purpose. You might already know what your purpose is, but it’s good to review it and keep it at the forefront of your thoughts. If you don’t have a purpose, start here: what will you want to look back on at the end of your life? What will make your life feel significant? What will give your life some meaning? If you don’t have an answer to these questions, it’s worth spending a little time here. Go for a walk and think about it.
  2. Embrace your desire. You’re reading this article because you have a desire to do something positive in your life. Embrace that. Isn’t it wonderful that you have this desire? See this as the first positive step, one you’ve already taken. Now use it and take action.
  3. Create the space. You won’t make any changes if you don’t create a small space for the change. When will you start making the change? In the morning, in the evening, during your lunch break? Don’t wait for the change to happen — make it happen. Block off some time on your calendar each day, even if it’s just 10 or 15 minutes. If you don’t have the time, think about how long you spend each day on Facebook, TV, games, or doing smaller tasks that aren’t as important. Push those back for just a bit, and do what’s most important to you first.
  4. Surround yourself. The best way to make change happen is to surround yourself with others making a similar change themselves, others who will support your change. Find a few people online or off, and create a support team that will check in with each other regularly. Yes, this might take some work. Yes, you can do it.
  5. Make the accountability. Find at least one person who will hold you accountable for making this change. It might be the support team mentioned above, or a coach, or an accountability partner. Tell them not to let you off the hook.
  6. Take a small action. If you’re overwhelmed by a large change, or a bunch of large change, just focus on one small step. What small action can you take today that will move you forward? It might be something as simple as “do an Internet search about selling my quilts online”, or “call Freddie to ask him to hold me accountable”. Take a small step, and get moving. Movement begets movement. Now take another small step. This is how change is created.

Content Marketing Basics

Content Marketing Basics designed by Fivenson Studios Michigans #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising & Full-Service Agency

Content Marketing Basics – the Importance of Tone

At face value, content marketing might not seem like a ton of work. You write an article or two, tweet a few times, maybe upload a nice short video to YouTube and you are done, right? Well, wrong. Content marketing is a very complex field where one needs to do everything right in order to truly reap the benefits.

There are a number of things that will influence how successful you are when doing content marketing – from the time you invest in doing it to the tools you might choose to help you in your efforts. One factor that can also be the difference between successful and unsuccessful content marketing is your tone.

smiley-1041796_1920

What Exactly is Tone?

Tone can mean a lot of things and before we get into explaining why it matters so much, we should probably make it clear as to what we think of as tone. Tone is the "emotional color" of your content which can influence how people respond to it, how much they share it and so on. In content marketing, however, tone goes a bit more than just giving a particular shade to your content. It also involves your communication with other people on the web.

Different Tone Categories

When we are talking about the categories of tone, we are talking about the different situations where the tone needs to be determined. The first and the most obvious of these is the tone of the actual content. Another category is the tone you adopt when reaching out to owners of blogs and websites who might be willing to let you guest blog on their sites. There is also the category of the tone you take on when communicating with the general public, either on social media or in the comments sections once you post your content.

Content Tone

Finding the right tone for your content is not an easy task, even though it may seem like one. For one, you need to think long and hard about what the "appropriate" tone is going to be for your business. For example, if your company manufactures medical equipment, your content will need to be very serious, backed with cold, hard facts and also cutting edge. On the other hand, if you run a local burger joint, you will want to be relaxed, even jovial.

Experts from the reputable SEO firm Online Marketing Gurus tell us that this is not only true for written content. If you do video content, you also need to make sure the tone of your content is suitable for your industry and your company. The same goes for infographics or any other type of content such as podcasts, white papers and so on.

Communication Tone

Just as it is important to establish the kind of content tone that will work the best for you, it is just as useful to hit all the right notes when talking to other people online. This is especially true for other bloggers and webmasters who own sites where you wish to do a bit of guest blogging. In order to find the best tone to take with them, you need to do a bit of research and find out who they are, what they are like and what kind of correspondence they prefer.

The best place to start is the industry and the website itself. For example, the world's leading website on medical technology is probably going to have very serious staff and people who will not be really happy to see an outreach email with half a dozen emojis peppered throughout. It will probably be best to keep things strictly professional in such a case. If you are reaching out to personal blogs, especially those dealing with lighter themes; you should also adopt a lighter tone.

Sometimes it is best to be factual and almost automatic sounding, while at other times such an approach will only make the blog owner get bored and stop conversing with you.

Of course, you will also want to establish the best kind of tone when responding to people's comments which will, hopefully, be posted once you get your content live. It can be quite difficult to stay composed when dealing with online commenters, but you need to try your best. Of course, if someone asks a question, you should be as quick and as helpful with your responses as possible.

If you decide to promote your content on social media (which you should do, by the way), you will also want to have a consistent tone which will let people know there is a real person behind the account, a person with certain opinions and beliefs.

Closing Word

If you fail to hit the right tone when doing content marketing, you are not only minimizing your chances of getting it shared and posted on websites that are not your own. You also risk sounding silly or overly serious which can be just as harmful.

Spend some time to think about your tone. It will pay off.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother's Day-From your friends at fivenson studios-Fivenson Studios Michigan's #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising & Full-Service Agency

To The World You Are A Mother, But To Your Family You Are The World.

Happy Mother’s Day From Your Friends At Fivenson Studios

The roots of Mother's Day history can be traced in UK where a Mothering Sunday was celebrated much before the festival saw the light of the day in US.

Early Christians celebrated a Mother's Day of sorts during the festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent in honor of the Virgin Mary, the Mother of Christ.

History of Mother's Day: Mothering Sunday Here a Mothering Sunday was celebrated annually on the fourth Sunday of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter) to honor mothers.

Julia tirelessly championed the cause of official celebration of Mother’s Day and declaration of official holiday on the day.

Though Anna Jarvis never married and never had kids, she is also known as the Mother of Mother’s Day, an apt title for the lady who worked hard to bestow honor on all mothers.

Anna Jarvis got the inspiration of celebrating Mother’s Day from her own mother Mrs. Anna Marie Reeves Jarvis in her childhood.

A loving daughter, Anna never forgot her mother’s word and when her mother died in 1905, she resolved to fulfill her mother’s desire of having a mother’s day.

By 1911, Mother's Day was celebrated in almost every state in the Union and on May 8, 1914 President Woodrow Wilson signed a Joint Resolution designating the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day.

There is also a tradition of gifting flowers, cards and others gift to mothers on the Mother’s Day.

It is unfortunate to note that Ms. Anna Jarvis, who devoted her life for the declaration of Mother’s Day holiday was deeply hurt to note the huge commercialization of the day.

Quote of The day “A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” -Colin Powell

Quote of the day-A dream doesnt become reality through magic it takes sweat determination and hard work.-Colin Powell Fivenson Studios Michigan #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, Advertising

When you don’t take action to live your dreams, someone somewhere else in the world will.

Take the risk. Put in the practice. Be willing to pay the price. Get it done no matter what it takes or how long it takes. You are responsible for the results you get. There is no time for excuses.

The following tips can help you on the path to live your dreams.

1. Fear is no excuse; we’re all afraid.

It’s part of being human. It’s what you do in spite of your fear that matters. Look your fear in the eye. Tell it to back down. You have work to do, people to see, and connections to make.

2. Make a choice

We make hundreds of choices every day. Become aware of the choices you make and the consequences of your choices. Choose to get up an hour early. Choose to use your gifts and talents. Choose to go the extra mile. Choose to ask for help. Choose to leave your mark on the world. It’s all about choices.

3. Talk to yourself

Use encouraging words. I’m 58 years old. Saturday night I ran a five mile road race for charity. It was 93 degrees and we ran on the black pavement at 8 p.m. There were no water stations. I used the mantra, “I am a fighter.” I talked myself across the finish line. Why did I do it? Because I could!

4. Minimize your number of regrets

Do what you need to do today to live your dreams. Don’t hesitate, delay, or isolate. Apologize, take the high road, and accept responsibility for all that you do and all that you don’t do. Life is messy. So what! Learn from your mistakes and move on.

5. Don’t be afraid of hard work

Be willing to do what it takes. Put in the hours. Network. Become an expert. Don’t back down and don’t give in. Dream big! Sometimes life will demand that you crawl one more inch and sometimes life will allow you to soar. Continue to advance forward. Enjoy it all.

6. Live the part

What does success feel like? Get into the feeling. What does success smell like? Wear the perfume. What does success look like? Dress the part. Go where successful people go and do what successful people do.

7. Kick down the doors

When things go wrong, get back up. When doors don’t open, kick them down. When there’s a detour, climb a fence. When somebody tells you, “no”, ask again. Keep going back and keep moving forward until you get what you want. Each “no” is a step closer to a “yes”.

8. Make yourself stand out

Tell the truth. Keep your promises. Make others aware of your strengths. Be persistent. Be yourself. Listen to your heart. Follow your dreams with integrity and love.

9. Share your gifts

Do it in small and big ways. Help, server, and surprise others. Yesterday, my husband went into the gas station for a few minutes as I waited in the car. I noticed a man standing on the sidewalk. He was old, worn, and was missing an arm. His other arm didn’t look very good either. I phoned my husband and asked him to pick up a bottled water and a sandwich. I asked him to give it to the guy on the sidewalk when he came out. The man smiled, accepted it, and walked away. It’s that simple. Are you willing to share your time, talent, wisdom, or money today?

We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, so we need to create and live our dreams today!

Content Marketing

Content Marketing-Fivenson Studios Michigans #1 Graphic Design, Web Design, Branding, & Advertising Firm

We know your time is limited, and marketing might not be in your specialty. We understand that running your business is your main focus, so we’ve taken the time to break down the top 8 strategies you should implement ASAP. For those of you interested in taking on the challenge, here are eight marketing strategies every small business owner should implement.

1. Content Marketing

In the process of planning your business' key message, you probably spend a lot of time thinking about how to promote your services, products & specials. In the beginning it might sound like a good plan to inform your potential customers about the services you provide, but this is all self-serving and you need to realize that this should only account for a small portion of the information you share.

This is where content marketing comes into play. Content marketing is one of the best ways to engage with your customers without overselling. You are there to provide information that can help them out with a particular problem. You can do this several ways: producing how-to videos, blogging on your particular niche, hosting webinars and meetups with those interested in your content, etc. Please realize that your customers can only handle so many emails and social media posts about the work that you do before becoming annoyed with only seeing self-promotion. When businesses continuously self-promote, the message begins to feel like spam and potential customers are more likely to tune them out or unfollow their business. Consider, for example Groupon.  When this service first came out, everyone was excited to get a daily deal delivered to their inbox. After a few months of receiving "deals", people began to lose interest and stop caring. Many started filtering/sending to spam all the emails they received from them. That same example can be applied to your business; people want to be engaged instead of feeling as if they are always being sold something.

With content marketing, businesses can share interesting industry information that they think will keep their audience engaged. For example, a tire shop might post "10 Summer Road Trips You Should Take in 2016", a photographer might share "5 Tips For Taking the Best Selfie", a gardener could recommend "3 Plants to Keep Mosquitoes Away in the Summer".  While the information might not highlight what your company can do, it keeps your brand in front of your audience, making it easier for the customer to recall your business at the time of purchase.

Mastering content marketing takes time and practice. You need to learn what keeps your customers engaged and find a balanced strategy for sharing information about your own services. Stay tuned for the remaining 7 marketing strategies. If you need help implementing any of the strategies, please contact us and we will be more than happy to assist you.

QUOTE OF THE DAY Hard Work Beats Talent When Talent Doesn’t Work Hard

Quote of the day-Hard Work Beats Talent When Talent Doesn’t Work Hard -Tim Notke-designed by fivenson studios graphic design and web design studios

Talent is the fuel for the fire, it will kick-start you towards success and make things easier to get going in the beginning but if you have some who is very talented but doesn’t work hard, and someone who is not talented but works really hard, the person who works hard is usually going to succeed more.

It boils down to your work ethic and how much effort you’re willing to put into something. As many people know, with life, you get what you put into it, so if you’ve got something you’re aiming for, something you want to do, work hard and you’ll create your own talent.

Many famous people are famous not because they’ve hit ‘overnight success’ but because behind the scenes they’ve been working really hard.

The more work you put into something the more you’ll get out. If you want to become a really good at something you have to be willing to put in the work. For example If you want to become a really fit, athletic person then workout. Eat the right food and although you may not have a natural ‘talent’ or aptitude for it at first in time and with a focused amount of really hard work you’ll become a master.

People will consider you talented but what’s really happened is that you’ve become a master through repetition, belief and hard work!

Logo Design Concept For Creative Care Package

Creative Care Logo

What Makes a Great Logo Design?

The Nike Swoosh, the Coca-Cola cursive and Apple’s apple: great brands have great logos. These logos convey the brand’s message to millions of people every day, just by being visible.

If your company is looking to make an impression and grow in the marketplace, you’ll need a logo. Fortunately, a good graphic designer can create one for you. While the price tags for those famous logos we mentioned earlier vary widely, you can get a brand-building logo for a budget price. Creating a logo is about more than eye-catching pictures. There are many things to consider when choosing the right logo for your company, so today we’re going to take a deeper look at the logistics of logos.

Talking Text

Unless your logo is internationally recognized like Nike or Apple, adding your name to the graphic is crucial to building your brand awareness. That means you’re going to need some text. The words you include in your logo do more than just convey your message, for starters. They also represent the “look” of your brand. Great graphic designers know how to use different fonts to convey different meanings and emotions to their audiences. Being legible isn’t enough, unfortunately. Your text has to convey a notion as well, and your graphic designer can help you find the right text for your logo.

Eye-catching Color

Colors aren’t just for sports teams. Companies can and should have colors as well, and those colors should be represented in the logo. It’s important, of course, to choose your colors wisely. The colors you select can have a big impact on your company’s future business success.

Start by remembering that certain colors convey certain emotions. If your goal is to make your logo look young and exciting, you may want to select a bright color like red or yellow. However, if your goal is to have your logo look cool and refined, darker colors, like blue, are the better choice. Color psychology is very real and a good graphic designer can use it to your advantage.

It’s also worth pointing out that you don’t need to have any color at all. A great logo should look as good in black and white as it does in any color shade. The Nike swoosh is a great example.

Finally, just like your text, simplicity is king when it comes to selecting colors for your logo. That means limiting your color selections to 3 or fewer; it’s worth noting that a single color may be all you need.

Creating a Great Graphic

When most people think of a brand’s logo, they think of the graphic, so make your graphic count. Any logo can look good on a masthead, but a professional graphic designer can help you create a graphic that also looks good on stationery, apparel, advertisements and on the Web.

Graphics that possess these qualities are professionally created, not clip art. They are also scalable and, like the text and color selections, simple. Perhaps most importantly, a good logo graphic is also timeless. Your company is going to be around for generations, and so should your logo.

More cost effective than you think

For your business to grow and build brand reputation, you need a great logo – something that symbolizes your company every time it appears and conveys the message you want to your customers, now and for the years ahead. But that doesn’t mean your logo has to cost you thousands of dollars. Fivenson Studios design team has been empowering companies for years by creating one-of-a-kind logos for affordable prices.

Logo Design

The core piece on all your marketing efforts is your logo. Your company's logo is the first place where prospects will have contact with your company.
